Goodwill in Malaga RecognisedGoodwill Engineering, located in Malaga, received a Premier’s Australia Day Citizenship award in January this year for its outstanding commitment to providing employment opportunities to people with disability. Goodwill Engineering is an Australian Disability Enterprise (ADE) and the business arm of The Centre for Cerebral Palsy. The award was given as part of the City of Swan’s annual Australia Day celebrations.Councillor Mel Congerton JP of the City of Swan presented the award and said “the organisation offered wonderful opportunities to a diverse range of individuals.”
Goodwill Engineering is a not-for-profit organisation, and the only one of its kind to win the prestigious award. It provides supported employment to people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities while maintaining a strong and viable business. The 64 employees, along with their support workers, produce vast amounts of hardware for Bunnings and the WA building industry.
Goodwill Engineering has been in operation since the 1960’s and has forged a solid reputation for quality products and reliable service. The business also provides ongoing skills training, support, employment and social opportunities for its employees.
