Take up the Xtreme laser challenge

Open the door to Xtreme Leisure Indoor Laser Skirmish’s combat area and you’ll find the ultimate battleground – raised walkways and towers, a ditched twin engine plane, smoke, high-tech lighting and great sound effects.

And you’ll also see people of all ages having a ball, as they run around with some of the latest laser weapons available, including sub machine guns with quick focus red dot sites and sniper rifles with long range telescopic scopes, trying to inflict a crushing defeat on the enemy.
Xtreme has transformed the old indoor sports centre in Victoria Road, Malaga into one of the largest indoor laser skirmish centres in the southern hemisphere – with a massive 1000sqm combat area.
The indoor laser skirmish centre opened in late November, holding reduced priced sessions to help the fundraising efforts of non-profit organisations such as church youth groups and scouts.
Since its opening, hundreds of people have enjoyed the fun and excitement of one of Australia’s fastest growing team sports.
Xtreme managing director Michael Scholes said the business would now target the corporate market, offering an all day package that included six 30-minute scenarios, lunch and refreshments to cater for up to 40 people.
“Indoor laser skirmish is a fantastic day out for any business,” Mr Scholes said.
“The games are all about team building, strategy and morale, and develop communication and leadership skills – all the vital ingredients of a successful workplace.”
Mr Scholes said the scenarios included popular laser skirmish games such as capture the flag and VIP.
He said businesses were also encouraged to hold a function with a rival or neighbouring firm, to foster a friendly “store versus store” rivalry. Trophies can even be arranged for the victorious team.
Xtreme plans to introduce paintball to complement its laser skirmish combat area.
Paintball has recently been legalised by the State Government, and Xtreme has another massive area in its Victoria Road premises, formerly a netball and indoor soccer court, which it intends to transform into the State’s first indoor paintball skirmish centre.
“Indoor paintball will be a first for Perth and we imagine it will attract thousands of people,” Mr Scholes said.
“We will use a similar multi-dimensional battleground to the one used for laser skirmish, and people won’t have to worry about the weather because it will be indoor.
“Malaga is also a fantastic location and people won’t have to drive far to have a game of paintball.”
Mr Scholes said the paintball centre would be up and running within the next six to eight weeks.
The new paintball centre would also be available for corporate functions.
Xtreme Leisure Indoor Laser Skirmish is located at 299 Victoria Road Malaga and is open 4pm to 10pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 10pm on weekends, public and school holidays.
Xtreme is offering Malaga businesses a special two for one discount for corporate functions, with a minimum of 20 people.
